Pit Etiquette and Keeping the Floor Safe

Hardcore pits thrive on pure aggression, but picking up anyone who falls and keeping each other alive is the non-negotiable law.

SCENE & SAFETY

There is a massive difference between genuine energy and careless violence. A proper Twin Cities floor is built on mutual respect and brutal volume. When thirty people collide in a room that holds fifty, every single person in that circle is responsible for the health of the human standing next to them.

The Two-Second Lift Rule

If a shoe slips on wet concrete, three arms need to grab the harness before that shoulder hits the floor. You do not step over somebody to reach the front monitor. Pause the swing, haul them up, check for clear eyes, and throw them back into the rhythm.

Ears and Eyewear Consciousness

Protecting your hearing is not a sign of weakness; it is how you ensure you can still hear feedback when you are fifty. Keep foam earplugs in your vest pocket and hand them to the kid standing right against the PA stack. Look out for glass near the edges, keep flailing elbows below neck height, and make sure everybody leaves under their own power.
